Is it not likely these are just the US verison of the VW standards for their "extended service life" vehicles.
They are about 20K miles iirc

Don't forget to check whatever oil you end up choosing against your vehicle/engine manufacturers spec requirements, if you can.
Sorry, I know this is a bit off subject but we are talking engine oils:

Hello Kitty Engine oil - Yes its for real
ZDDP has been kicked around endlessly on the Volvo 1800 list on Yahoo. I've posted test results of oil analysis for both unused (virgin) oil samples and used oil samples on that web site.
I broke-in my rebuilt Volvo B20 pushrod engine on Walmart Supertech 30W API SH oil. This tractor oil is available in a 2 gallon jug. The 1 gallon jugs are API SM and, presumably, have less ZDDP. I switched to Shell Rotella T6 5W40 synthetic at the 20,000 mile oil change.
Irv Gordon has been using Castrol 20W50 and Castrol 15W40 Diesel oil in his 1966 Volvo 1800S coupe for nearly 3 million miles. His engine has been rebuilt twice. The first time at 800,000 miles and the second at 2.6 million miles.
Racing oils typically lack other additives such as detergents and dispersants which are necessary for an oil change interval longer than one race.
