Hi guys,
I know this is not a production car but supposedly it just set the European speed record for street legal cars, which in itself I found interesting enough to post.

It's an '84 T/A built by Norwegian Polly Motorsport featuring an 8.8 ltr (540 cui) aluminium block from Donovan Engineering, supercharger from Procharger and a lot of other parts I unfortunatly don't know that much about. End result is 1407hp - although it doesn't say if it's on the crank or rear wheels.
As for the claimed record, it reached 407.134 km/h (252.98 mph) in a recent test which has been verified by Automotive Testing Papenburg GmbH (whoever they are). Video of the run can be found here: http://www.pollymotorsport.no/index.php?mapping=86
The engine and performance data is on the first link so I'll just leave it at this: it does a 0-300 km/h (186.4 mph) run in just 12.22 seconds. I'm not up to speed with the Asian speed records - no pun intended - but I do believe this is faster than Veilside's old R32 GTR. However, had it been a record they would have probably stated that on the site as well. Still, it's bloody fast.
All in all, even though this is clearly a car modified and built for sheer speed and acceleration, I guess this means the Norwegians, Danes and Swedes are about to go head to head for the Euro speed record for street legal cars.
