i have heard horror stories about saab servicing, but that was from a dealer iirc. surely a specialist shop could do it much better.
Andreas Preuninger, Manager of Porsche High Performance Cars: "Grandmas can use paddles. They aren't challenging."
Looks like you got a good car for it's age! I don't agree with the wheels, but that's my taste. Awesome find!

Bloody hell!
Wish I had balls to do something as nuts as this.
Rally legend Per Eklund to enter Nürburgring 24 in classic Saab 900 Turbo
Well he's one of a team and Saab has always done well in the few areas it competes.
WIll be good to see
Per used to get up to these kind of things .... which is more nuts ????

Nordschlieffe for 24h is probably a bit tame

Congrads! I think I might drive that!

Mah boi, UCP is what all true warriors strive for!
PINGAS!!!!
Congrats, love the Saab.
Small update.
Almost two years and 2,500 kms later, my Saab is running strong - gearbox hasn't exploded. Yet.
Some work has been done:
- brand new exhaust system (it had a horrible custom made straight pipe)
- new rear brake caliper (had a sticky rear brakes problem, most likely because I'm not driving the car as often as I should)
- new battery
- fresh set tyres
- and routine maintenance of course
Am I pleased with my youngtimer? Hell yeah. What a car!
Good to hear so Revo.
Do you happen to have more pictures of the car? It looks brilliant.
Saab is probably the only car company on the planet who can make a three-spoke wheel design look just right.
Glad to hear it is all running well. One of my best friends has a 9000 Aero that's about ten years younger than yours. Through him I'm vicariously experiencing the trials and tribulations of Saab ownership, and boy are there some trials.
Some snapshots of the interior.
Pic #2 shows drivers sun visor with operating instructions for turbocharged engine, in Swedish and Finnish language. One of my favorite details.
Unfortunately my camera battery died, so exterior shots have to wait.
The interior looks quite amazing, for a 330.000km car.
What do the instructions in the sunvisor say?
Lack of charisma can be fatal.
Visca Catalunya!
To ensure maximum perfomance and reliablity of your turbocharged engine, follow these guidelines:
- For the first 2000 kms do not exceed 5000 rpm
- Do not run the engine on full throttle before it has reached normal running temperature
- Before switching off the engine, let it idle for 20-30 seconds
- Use only Saab Turbo engine oil or oil certified by API SF/CC-SC/CD standards. Viscosity SAE 10w30, 10w40 or 5w30. Do not use addintional additives. See Owner's Manual
- The engine oil must be changed after every 10,000 kms
