The Koreans can't be ignored anymore. They have some very good cars - none that are fantastic - but their overall quality is really good nowadays. I actually think the next wave of rethinking vehicle design in the US will come via Kia/Hyundai, as they contunue to offer some very versatile vehicles here.

Dynamically they are as good as any mainstream european car (in some cases better), the quality has risen leaps and bounds (altough there are some faults yet) and the price has gone up as well (but still are competitively priced).
I'm not suprised they are taking the european market by storm.
By the way, most of the trim levels and option packages are limited to certain combinations which can makes for some annoying purchasing decisions...

Yeah, I noticed that. The Kia we have required an automatic transmission and power steering to get air conditioning as well.

Here if you want sunroof you have to have a diesel; and you also have to have a diesel for xenon headlamps.
You can't get the most power petrol engine in the three door.
If you want the rear view camera you have to get sat-nav. And if you get sat-nav you have to get mandatory 17 inch wheels.

A lot of folks do that. I can see needing the nav for the rearview camera; it uses that screen for it, so I can halfway make that association. But the others are just bizarre...what the hell does nav have to do with wheel size, or a diesel with sunroof?

OEM navs are all poo. The screens are poor as hell too. The rear view camera though... Mmmmm. So sweet.
