    Isle of Man TT 2011

Not there this year as it conflicted with the championship rounds.

BUT, some may still want to keep in touch.

    Couple of sites ...

Can't guarantee that you will find a way roudn the protection to view outside of the UK - sorry

Ryan Farquarsan had an off and is in hospital for observation and is expected to race.

Sadly practice week has had worse news at the death of a sidecar driver and passenger. http://www.iomtt.com/News/2011/06/01...f-the-ACU.aspx

Reminds us all of the committment the racers have and the risks they take to complete a lap

Though I'm not familiar with these men, deepest sympathies to the families of Bill Currie and Kevin Morgan, RIP.
These two gentlemen racers did what they loved, and hopefully that's condolence to those that lost them.

Very sad indeed But that's the risk the guys take when they get to the start and they are all perfectly aware of that. It gives even more respect to any of those people.

On a less sad note, if anyone will be able to find online streaming, please drop a link here...

online radio is best you can get outside of UK I think.

:: Manx Radio + TT :: Home Page

Sadly another death during racing, in the Supersport this time
ACU Events Ltd regrets to announce the death of Derek Brien, 34, from Co. Meath in Ireland who was killed during the first Supersport race at the 2011 Isle of Man TT Races following a high speed accident at Gorse Lea. The race was immediately red flagged following the incident.”

“Derek was an experienced road racer who first competed on the Isle of Man in the Manx Grand Prix in 2007 and competed in the TT Races in 2009 and 2010. He had a highest TT place of 13th in the 2010 Supersport 1 race.”

“Derek was single with a partner, Sarah. The ACU wishes to pass on their deepest sympathy to Derek’s family and friends.”

Jim Parker, Managing Director, ACU Events, commented:

“Derek was a very talented road racer and achieved a number of notable career highlights including his Manx Grand Prix victory.”

    “He will be sorely missed.”
Echo that. Go race Joey now

A grandstand ticket is about $25. It's a boring place to be,
Tickets at the few stands around churches etc are $5 entry.
THe Creg hotel corner is about $20.

95% of the track is FREE to stand and watch
and some of the best places to watch are the wide open mountain and the gooseneck, Bray Hill, Sulby Straight ... man I could list most of the corners and they are all free, FREE, F-R-E-E !!! You just got ot get their early if you want the comfy bits where you can lean out and touch as they go past at 170mph

For you getting to the island will be the expensive bit ... oh and the beers to join in when here
