This car is next to totally unknown outside France and specially outside the rally-world.
It was built for the glorious Group B rally championship as a contender for the Audi quattro, MG Metro 6R4 or Peugeot 205 T16. Sadly Citroën nearly did all mistakes you could do: the engine was way in front of the front axle, making the weight distribution very poor. Also the reliability wasn't very good and so the project was stopped after only a few rallies.
To get the car on the special stages in the first place, Citroën had to built 200 homologation versions for the street. They never finished all 200, some quotes tell about only around 110 cars. How many are left today is unknown, but when have you ever seen one before yourself? I guessed it
There are only 2 pics in the normal Citroën BX thread, so I think this special one is appreciated?
