    this is the car from the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, the very first. Last year it suffered from a small fire in the engine bay, so it was stationary then. This year it ran quietly, there are sound bites on the web that are far more aggressive.
    And no, we only shoot images, not sound.

    yep, that used to be Nick Mason's car, when they made that recording. It came as a gift with Motorsport, on a CD where Simon Taylor talks with Mason and discusses his cars. There are some more interesting noises on that CD.

    Lotus 11... although I wasn't aware it was ever considered to be a failure. Henk, is it something else? And how could that Mangusta driver not notice something that big flopping around?!? It had to affect the car.

    Lotus 17...
    The Mangusta driver only noticed the door when he saw it lying along the track....5 laps later. He repaired it but the next day the thing flew off again.
