like aiasib mentioned, yes I believe the paint scheme represents the reflections if the car was chrome.
The effect seems best at certain angles in brighter light.

No, it's terrible. These just get more ridiclous. Porcelain details in Ettore Bugatti’s cars, yes... but this is NOT one of his cars.

I disagree. I have always thought that Chromed Bugattis (or any fully chromed car short of a well designed Hot Rod) look terrible and gaudy. Not to mention unoriginal. You bring up that Ettore Bugatti had porcelain details on his cars, I see no reason why not on a Veyron, undoubtedly the greatest Bugatti ever built.

To each his own. Chrome paint looks great on the Veyron, but this doesn't appeal to me.
Porcelain details on an over-the-top-billionaire-toy two-ton extreme sportcar doesn't appeal to me either.
I imagine most within the Pur Sang crowd (small fraternity?) would vehemently disagree Veyron is the greatest "Bugatti" ever built.

I doesn't even matter which one you choose. Because the 35 is up there with the 57. Or even the marvelously silly 41.
A Bugatti will always better Bugatti than a Volkswagen Corrado is.

I was not aware that the black and orange SS could be made uglier... how little did I know
"Horsepower sells motor cars, but torque wins motor races."

The SS looked like it wanted to be a 911 GT3 RS. I've never thought Veyrons were ugly, but they always looked ungainly and awkard to me, no matter what paint scheme.
I understand the point that they're coming from- it's like a spinner (wheel)- "Hey look, I'm spinning when I come to a stop!"
In the same fashion, I look like I'm chrome when I'm not. But it doesn't work, especially when viewed directly from the front.
