Another vote for Jaguar here. They look superb, drive superb and sound superb. There's hardly any arguing to be done with those attributes.

I thought Lincoln wasn't bothered with existing any more. Do they actually make anything interesting? I can see the effort that General Motors has but into Cadillac, but Lincoln to me seems stuck in the nineties, being little more than fancy Fords.

By the way, I forgot to say that for some reason BMW has decided to ruin the handling of their cars, so I would say avoid.

I've just come back from driving a Hyundai for an hour or so, and I have to say, whoever told you that is right. The improvement is impressive, but they are not quite there yet.

The Autoblog podcast frequently mentions it, as does Car and Driver methinx.

The XK is old, the XJ is ugly, and the F-Type sounds fake and isn't that good looking. I like the XF, but you can't prop up an entire range on one model.

Well, I've only driven one modern Jaguar, but I have to say I rather like their combination of utter comfort and relax when you just want to cruise, and the fun and hooligan nature of it when you flick into sport and go for it. They are not quite as sharp as BMWs used to be, but nevertheless quite good fun to throw around.

These days when everything has to be sporty and stiff and uncomfortable, a good all rounder is a very welcomed addition to the mix. And that's what modern Jaguars are.

    I could see a 728i, but 720i.. currently there's a 1.6 turbo with 125kw/250Nm in the 320i EfficientDynamics Edition, but.. that's not a lot for a nearly 2 tonne vehicle.

Well, apparently it was a typo.

A shame because I thought it was a good idea (although it was Europe-only a 720d would've made more sense).

    Or maybe a 725d with the twin turbo version of the N47D20 (160 kW (218 bhp) @ 4400 rpm | 450 Nm (332 lb ft) @ 1500-2500 rpm)

I don't know about the state of the car, but I do know that when you drive an S63 you feel like an emperor.
