I can not get enough of these. Even not when they are painted in all colours of the rainbow. This is how a classic muscle car should look like.

Indeed, I did not consider the difference between muscle cars and pony cars, but I stand to be corrected. The comment got me asking myself the question what was actually the difference between the types though.
Without bothering doing a quick Internet check: A muscle car is just a family car with a heavy potent engine dropped in, like Chevrolet Impala SS. While a pony car was specially designed to be a lighter, more agile type of car, like the Mustang - right?
I still refer to the term 'muscle car' in general as both types are cars which are based on regular versions which have been adapted to maximize performance. Although I understand technically this is incorrect and I might be shot for that by real enthusiasts. Forgive me my ignorance
The early Mustangs I like as well by the way. Basically all classic American performance cars do it for me. The combination of classic looks and high performance engines - what not too like? This can certainly not be said for all of their modern variants.
Unfortunately during the 70's the touch was lost a bit, ending up with (for American standards) pathetic horsepower ratings and still the wild striped liveries.
The ponies were technically built on "compact" platforms: the Mustang on the Falcon's, the Barracuda on the Valiant's, and the Camaro/Firebird on its bespoke F-Body.
Pretty much any other American sedan or coupe with a hi-po motor you can call a muscle car, but those three (and maybe one or two more that I'm forgetting) are ponycars.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
the Javelin is often forgotten...
"I find the whole business of religion profoundly interesting, but it does mystify me that otherwise intelligent people take it seriously." Douglas Adams
I don't know how to refer to pony and muscle cars in the same phrase, or other cool American cars from that era. I guess 60s Detroit Iron suffices.
Forget about AMC.

MoS, where are these white background shots from? Is there one of the Trans-Am Sunoco Penske Camaro?
Don't tell anyone
Thanks Duell for splitting the first part. My next post will be third & fourth gen Camaro's.
After that I will leave it as is as I don't have new generation Camaro pic's.
