yeah,im with you,because s600 has a 6.0 v12,just like the 760il,but s55 has a 5.4 supercharged v8,s55 amg is a true sport saloon

I red the test with MB S600, BMW 760 li, VW Faeton 6.0. Mercedes accelerated 0-100 kph at 4.79 seconds, BMW- at ~6seconds and VW at7 , but the Faeton's top speed is more then MB znd BMW cause limiter's settings. As about comfort - the leader is Mercedes. Handling leader is , certainly, BMW. MB stopped from 100kph at 35(!) metres (dont forget about mass more than 2000 kg)

yeh that's the point most people would agree that the E55 is a sports car. luxury is a secondary feature of the cars design. hence this is a stupid comaprison....

the S600 has always been the flagship model of the Mercedes line up for techinical advancements and luxury...
