I hope we can all have a smile out of this story as well as learn the lesson !!
I just got a brand new Sony Ericsson mobile phone about 2 weeks and it cost me over $300 US, as it has all the pimpin features including a cam and bluetooth. Lucky for me the phone started doing funny things 3 days after i purchased it. Please dont even ask about warranty because this is a different part of the world and everything here is different !!
So for the past coupel of days i was busy going between the Sony Ericsson service center and the store i purchased the phone from to TRY and get some sort of settlement. My work hours are from 8:30am-2:00pm and from 5:00pm - 8:00pm with thursday an only morning shift and friday the only day off. the Sony Ericsson hours are from 9-2pm and 4:30pm-7pm daily and thursday an only morning shift and fridays off !! so its almost identical to my schedule, exept fot that half an hour head start they have from 4:30-5pm, which i though would be my only chance to try and visit them.
so i did that and i was in an extreme hurry as my work start at 5pm and they open at 4:30pm.
So i rushed to the store and stayed there for about 1 hour and then went back out to hear my car's engine running. i look inside and there are my keys in the ignition! turns out that i left the keys in the car with it turned on.
home is about 25 minutes away, so i thought i would go home to get my spare keys and then back. but wait, my house keys are also inside the car !!
sure the building's superintendant has a spare key, right ?! i take a cab home and ask the guy for the spare key and he keeps looking for 20 mins and gives me a key chain with 5 keys and tells me its one of them. none of them work!! so i call a friend who tells me about a guy that can open any car in minutes (its his job as he works in a key store). i go there and he says sure, but it will cost 35 US dollars !! after a 3 minute negotiation i take it down to 25 and we take a cab to the car. during the way i get into a fight with the cab driver for refusing to take the route i told him to take and instead takes us into the middle of rush hour !!
anyways, we arrived to the car and the guy opened it in about 2 minutes. thats ofcourse after the engine has been running for over 3 hours staright !!
may i add that its a 92 Cadillac Seville STS with a 4.9Litre V8 that basically LOVES gas !!
i drove the guy back to his store after he looked at the driving licsence and the car's registration papers to make sure i am the owner. he also wrote down all the info for future reference. i also made another copy of the door keys to keep in my wallet for future incidents !! and ofcourse a spare copy of the apartment key as well.
anyways, i hope u all get something out of this.
oh and by the way, coz of all this, i didnt go to work for that afternoon shift !so it did cost me more than just the guy's money and the cabs' fares !!
