    Bring back the historics

I was watching the supercars on tv the other day... compared to the old group n historic touring cars they are so boring. the series is too controlled, even down to ride heights???!!!!
i reckon they should bring back another manufacturer, or model of car, just to make it interesting. personally i thing that the organisers are afraid to because another manufacturer could crap all over the current cars. It is good racing and is good to see the Minis and cortinas beating the V8's. Have a look at the pic, what is better than an XY GT sideways??

the V8's might seem a bit too controlled but theyre alot safer than the historics. id rather crash at 200km/h in a BA supercar than an XAGT or A9X torana. have u ever heard the stories about in the 70's on the final laps of bathurst, the falcon GT's brakes were so hot if u tapped the brakes theyd explode, its a scary thought for me coming down conrod straight doing 140mph in a phase 3 and that thought on your mind

and to think that most group Nc cars have 700 odd hp are stripped to all but the basics and now have enginerd cages to help with the stifness of the car but they also must run stock sized brakes with the addition of 4 pot calipers and the races are fairly short usualy only 8 lap sprints

diggin up an old thread coz i felt like it.

Seriously lets bring in Royota and Misoomishi and carve up some local show offs

Maybe we could organise a UCP Sprint day... maybe maked a virtual game of some sorts and you can record times and we can have a fastest sprinter on UCP...

I love V8's today. They are faster and handling better then ever. Also there reliablilty is second to none. They also have the Reputation as being the best touring car championship on earth What could be wrong with that

I thought all you damn Xbox fans were the same, screaming Forza and Project Gotham were the best racing games ever made, that GT3/4 were nothing compared to them with more than 6 cars and lifelike damage etc

Personally im glad the GT series has no damage and only 6 opponents. The opponents cant drive for shit so the less there are and the quicker you can get infront of them, the better. As for damage, why do you want the cars to look WORSE?

I have a preference for the xbox but im no fanboy . I rkn PGR2 is a good game though, I liked it more than GT3, however it has its downsides. I have only heard about Forza Motorsport(sounds good), as i dont think its even out yet, it has been labeled "GT" killer, I dont know how true that is, but if its anything like "killzone"(ps2 "halo killer"), then itll be a major dissapointment :P

Is GT4 out yet, i heard its about 10 days away or something, AND, theres gonna be a FPV GT in it?? Thats why i want it lol :P All those variety of cars!

Yeh it is, but unless u have some sort of steering wheel, i doubt it would be as enjoyable as console version, especially after i tried to go around corners with the arrow keys on a keyboard :|

I'm not big on game comsoles. I payed NFSU2 on PC. then my nephew got it on PS2. I was shocked it's a difference you can see the extra $$$ Spent on the PC when watching it on PS2.

Yeah it'll be out around the end of March or something in the ENGLISH version, Jap version's already out and yeah there's technically 6 Aussie cars in, but only 4 you can get cause theres the VY Monaro and SS, F6 Typhoon and GT as well as the Pontiac GTO and AU V8 Supercar, same one that was in GT3..

Personally i think theres no real point in trying to better the car graphics of GT3, they were absolutely great and its going to take the PS3 to really take another big step to top it again, im hoping the main focus of GT4 is more cars, more tracks, more parts.....Everyone's been bragging that Forza and PGR2 have supposed "more" lifelike racing, more opponents, actual damage (although its been said alot of manufacturers paid GT3/4 NOT to have damage so the cars always looked good)....i could ramble on about all the stupid little things people thinkg Forza and PGR2 will have thats better than GT4, but at the end of the day its only a pissy little difference that has no bearing on how i play GT and its definately not enough to make me want to get an Xbox. Plus i couldnt be f**ked trying to learn how to use the Xbox controller, ive had both the PSX and PS2 so im more than used to the dpad, twin joysticks, X square triangle O and L1 L2 R1 R2.....
