two "n"s SONNET.
Also known as the Saab 94 Super Sport
Weighed only 500kg, only 6 ever built, good for 210km/h
2-stroke, 3-cylinder, 750cc
Chassis #1 was aluminium ( so Lotus not first ) but rest were steel.
Didn't go to production as rules changed and allowed them to enter modified cars in competition, so no need for 'homologation" sepcial.

A Saab 96 has appeared across the road from me.
I think they might be going to restore it.
Thanks for all the fish
2-stroke 96s were one of the first ordinary car which made an excelptionla rally car.
Part of the reason often given was that when you rolled them they always caem back on their wheels
Compete regularly with a guy in a full works 96, I like them

I suspect it is their error, but equally how many folks in GM USA actually know anything about the Saab car ????
www.saab.com will have it listed somewhere for sure.
It IS Sonett There a superb condition Sonett II near me. Nice little car.

GM is wrong :-) the name is Sonett.
and you pronounce it like So nett ,and the O sounds like a swedish å, The å is roughly equivalent to "aw"
I LOVE these cars! Arn't Swedish cars so awesome and under rated. They've got the safety and build of Germany, and stylishness of Italy (Well, apart from the majority of Volvos...)
and Saab is very special company they are not only building car :-) they are also building Jetfighter Jas 39 gripen
is the first 4th generation fighter operational in the world :-)
here's a nice 1967 Sonett II
