    Porsche wreck!

Check out this article from the local paper. Some people are idiots.

Police Sgt. Charles Tappe. "It's just amazing because that's such a small car. They traveled so far when they went off the road that they lost momentum when they hit the pillar."
Guess they don't teach the concept of mass and momentum to the police

Nope, you read it right werty, he'd bought the car the day before. What it doesn't say is that it was dady's money most likely.

You know, before giving a kid of mine a car like that, I'd send him or her to a high performance driving school first....actually, I'd teach him or her about responsible driving, then the driving school.

The 944 isn't exactly a pavement-pounding tire-burning monster. Stock performance numbers are pretty much on par with your average modern econobox. Given the circumstances (4 young occupants, and stupidity) I think the end result would have been the same whether he'd been driving a 944, a 911 GT3, or a Ford Fiesta.

I'd like to see what 'high rate of speed' really was. 50? 60?

You're right Quiggs, the 944 had a 0-60 time in the 8 to 9 second range, but it could top 130 MPH though. The 944 Turbo was in the 6.5 second range. By the looks of the accident, he was going way faster than 60 MPH. I'd be willing to bet he was going at least 90 MPH.

That 944 still looks pretty decent, cant be a speed higher then 40mph. I've seen this sort of sight before with young people and a 944, although it was my own 944S, and my girlfriend who crashed it.. Very good cars to be in when crashed!

if you look at the rear, you can see how wide the body panels over the rearwheels are, a 924 is alot less "beefy" in that area, ill get some pics to show you

there was a factory which used to make bodykits to make your 924 look like a 944, but i doubt this car has a bodykit on it.

My friend's dad owns one. Its not such a fast car as I would like it to be. That kid is still very lucky that his stupidity didnt kill anyone.

Did you what it said at the bottom?
A witness reported seeing a girl standing through the car's moon roof shortly before the accident.
It seems to me that everyone was being stupid.
