Ferrari 275 GTB/4 (1967)
Pics and info from NetCarShow.com
Ferrari 275 GTB/4 was a sports coupe produced from 1966 to 1968. The name was derived from its engine's specs - each of the 12 cylinders had a displacement of about 275cc and the engine had a four-cam setup (which was a first for Ferrari production cars).
This Pininfarina-designed car had a Ferrari-developed fully independent sports suspension and with its 300hp (220kW) engine was capable of reaching a top speed of 165 mph (265 km/h). Ferrari 275 GTB/4 was known for its great handling, achieved mainly thanks to the nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution.
Many consider the 275 GTB/4 to be the greatest Ferrari ever build, and with only 280 cars ever made it's certainly a very rare example of the bread.
Specifications
- 300hp, 3,286cc four overhead cam V-12 engine
- five-speed manual gearbox, rear-mounted transaxle
- four-wheel independent suspension with upper and lower wishbones
- coil springs and tubular shocks
- four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes
- Wheelbase: 94.5in. (2,400mm)
This particular 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 was sold on an auction (RM Auctions) for £561.000 in October 2007.
