This was an attempt to make it open and clear what was happening so nobody felt it was secretive. Bias can't happen in the glare of publicity
Also, if it's all secretive does anyone else learn that bans are likely ?
Personally I think it's better if everyoen controlled themselves and didn't need bans. If it were all secret, no lessons would be learned on the wider front.
