    Venturi

Apparently the French car maker Venturi debuted a new sportscar today. I thought Venturi had went under. Does anybody know anything about this new car or have pics of it???

I suggest that you try contacting the only Venturi dealership in the world which is in Monaco, they may have the information that you require, I am sorry that I am not able to provide you with any more information mate.

If Matra sees this thread I'm sure he'll know something about it, Matra knows a lot about French cars.

Sadly, I do but more importantly others know even more and it's all at http://www.pistonheads.com/features/?storyId=3624

Summarising - Started in Le Mans, then resurrected in Parais and now reformed in Monaco. Some sales success came with the PRV V6 ( as in the A610 and the point of contact for me ). They went bankrupt twice as they spent LOTS on competition and didn't sell many cars out side of France They took the PRV V6 engine out to 600bhp in production form, so I'm always hopefull of finding an engine transplant for the A610 !!!!!

That new one sure looks nice, but I get the feeling it's now a very low volume 'hope' rather than a 'production line' car.

    Anouther reserection!

It's the first production electric sports car in history! Check this press release out, it's a fair read.

To be all honest, I never heard of Venturi before; thanks for the article-find Matra et Alpine, I'm going to get to reading.

There is also the 2007 Connaught Type-D that is unveiled; why do I mention this car? It is also resurrected by two ex-Jaguar engineers (one worked on XJ220). If features a aluminum V10 motor along with a electric motor (basically a Hybrid) said to produce 162 hp and 144 lb.ft. of torque; this may sound low, but remember it's electric motor: with the motors going the car is said to have about a 6-second time to hit 60mph and a top speed of up to 150mph. The future looks bright for Hybrids (see picture attachments below).

I should say that it's obviouse that those pictures are digital rendered; however, Connaught is plaining to have a production model by 2006 (hint: 2007 model).

It's €540.000 and weighs well over 1100 kg thanks to 300 kg worth of batteries.
