    History of the logos...

You know the orogin of a label?
    Share your knowledge...
I'm gonna start with this one:

    Alfa Romeo:
The Alfa logo is the crest of the city of Milan
the city where the company was found.
The picture of the snake can be traced back to the history
of the Visconti-family. In 1111 Ottone Visconti killed a ruler
and took his escutcheon which showed snake eating a child.
Only a short time later the same image decorated the cathedral of Milan.
In the 20th century when the Alfa company was signed
the founders used the crest of the city as their new logo.

    lol ok, thanks henk

I'm going to start with Lamborghini. Lamborghini was founded in 1963 in Sant'Agata Bolognese (near Modena, Italy). It was created because Enzo Ferrari refused to fix a problem with the Ferrari of Feruccio Lamborghini. So Ferruccio Lamborghini decided to make his own car company. The company's first car was the 350 GTV. It was introduced at the Turin Motor Show. Then he decided that all the cars were going to have names of famous bulls The Lamborghini Badge, since its creation, was not modified.

PS: I know lots of other companies but it's dificult to write their history in english

Next one: BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke)

Patented in 1917 the inner circle shows a rotating propeller.
Back in the days the BMW AG used to produce engines for aircrafts.
White and blue are the national colors of bavaria.

Ferruccio Lamborghini used to build agricultural tractors.
So he coudn't take a graceful animal like Enzo Ferrari did.
The only thing that would come close to his tractors was a mighty bull...

It's a specific adjustment of toothed wheels.
Background: Before Andre Citroën found the car company in 1920 he was
the owner of a factory which produced toothed wheels.

    Porsche

after 8 years without a logo, Ferdinand Porsche used a simple elongated word 'Porsche' on his 356 series. In 1956 he went to a restaraunt for lunch and sketched down the Porsche cerst we all know and love.

    Wrong Phoenix on 2 things.
1: Enzo Ferrari made a remark.
"What would a tractor-maker know about cars, anyway?"
    Ferruccio complained about the setup.
2:The marque. Came from his Zodiac sign.
Taurus the bull was the inspiration for the marque.

Sad thing is. Ferruccio is only thought for the cars, and rarely the tractors. No seems to appreciate or know the fact that Ferruccio also built air conditioneers/heaters, and wines. His famous wine, "The Blood of the Miura."

The Zodiac sign is also the inspiration for the names of his cars.
Miura-The name of a famous bull breeder.

At andy.muc-Same thing for the bulls.

    In other words,
The famous bull came from his Zodiac sign-Taurus.
The name of the bull on the emblem was also named Taurus.
Son Tonino is said to run his buisness now.

lambo's bull is because of the fact that he was born under the torus sign.
    bull = torus
    and yea.

subaru = subaru's logo came from the star sign mitsubaruishi (or along those lines) (sounds like mitsubishi eh?). it looks astonishingly like the southern cross. but it couldnt be, because the southern cross is only able to be seen in the southern hemisphere.

mitsubishi = mistubishi's logo came from the days in ww2 when they were making ships and planes for the japanese war efforts. the three points on the logo are for propeller blades, and ocianic shiping blades.

toyota = toyota's three circles encompase (supposedly) the past present and future of car design, cementing them into the pages of history. (wtf) also ive heard that the big circle is for the company, the horisontal circle is for the comsumer and the last vertical circle is for the environment.
