    Reccomendations: 2005 points My Way

I thought i should get in early for my version of next years points. This year i started it with what i thought was a more rewarding system, and as early as round 5, the top 5 drivers seemed to be making a fair buffer from the rest.

Right now the points are organised as:
    1st - 80 points
    2nd - 72 points
    3rd - 66 points
    4th - 60 points
    5th - 56 points
    6th - 52 points
    7th - 48 points
    8th - 44 points
    9th - 40 points
    10th - 36 points
    11th - 32 points
    12th - 30 points
    13th - 28 points
    14th - 26 points
    15th - 24 points
    16th - 22 points
    17th - 20 points
    18th - 18 points
    19th - 16 points
    20th - 14 points
    21st - 12 points
    22th - 11 points
    23nd - 10 points
    24rd - 9 points
    25th - 8 points
    26th - 7 points
    27th - 6 points
    28th - 5 points
    29th - 4 points
    20th - 3 points
    31st - 2 points
    32nd - 1 point

That works out well IMO as many of the sprint rounds only include the top 32 placed drivers. My system works that everyone gets points, so anyone in that case would walk away with points, capiche.

Do you think it should be set out so that only 1st gets significantly more than everyone else?

Should it offer points to EVERYONE rather than the top 32?

Should Bathurst and Sandown get more points, specifically Bathurst?

Should there be MORE points offered for moving up the ranks?

Should non finishers get no points like the official system?

    Any feedback is appreciated....

I be tinking that 1st should get max like this
    Race 1 .... 1st 70
Race 2 .... 1st 80 Stops the end up on the same points but who wins second race wins the round crap....
Second should never get more then 10 points close to first place.
So i say the top 18 should get points and if you have a DNF thats it over red rover.

    Race 1...
    1st.....70
    2nd.....63
    3rd......58
    4th......55
    5th......52
    6th......49
    7th......44
    8th......39
    9th......34
    10th.....29
    11th.....24
    12th.....19
    13th.....14
    14th.....9
    15th.....4
    16th.....3
    17th.....2
    18th.....1

    Race 2

    1st....80
    2nd...69
    3rd....66
    4th....63
    5th....60
    6th....57
    7th....52
    8th....47
    9th....42
    10th..37
    11th..32
    12th..27
    13th..22
    14th..17
    15th..12
    16th..7
    17th..2
    18th..1

Gives the winner of the second race a good gap,,, Or a chance to catch up
But the second race has more points so makes the second more of a fight for points cause the winner gets a good gap or catch up

It's the first one i have done took me 10min to work it out so if there is any flaws blame it on the first timmer

It's for V8Supercars the points system has been talked about for a wile, It's made to keep the top 10 close, Someone can win 7 races straight and if they are lucky could get 40 points ahead only

I cant really say i can see how you figured this out, it doesnt really make much sense to me....

With mine, i just started with a 1 point buffer. Once you cracked the top 20, its a 2 point buffer. Once you crack the top 10 its a 4 point buffer, so its doubled. When you get on the podium, you get a 6 point buffer and finally 1st has an 8 point buffer on 2nd. That seemed to be pretty good.

The ONLY complaint ive got with mine is how long it takes me to setup and maintain. If i had Excel on my comp, i probably should have setup a spreadsheet or something so i just type in the round's points and WHAM it figures itself out...makes it hard when me, whiteballz, slick and bluey all go on spammin at the same time

i would like to see a heap of points being given to first place. that way everyone would be going for first, and it would get really exciting towards teh end of the race.

Well what if, i made all the points buffers just keep doubling....that means it goes from 1pt, 2pt, 4pt, 8pt then 16pts between 1st and 2nd. Then 1st will get 92 points whilst 2nd will have 76

I like the doubling points idea, keeps things relaticely simple cept for the big numbers itll get to towards the end of the season...

well i think its an easy and fair way to split up the grid....i gotta give EVERYONE the incentive to move up, it should provide some good racing at the back of the field at least. only problem is, it throws someone out of balance heaps if they have a dud round. at least theres the knowledge that everyone has at least 1 dud round. you wouldnt think Ambrose only got like 40 out of 192 points at Winton this year would you...
