I have a very deep love for maseratis. The luxuary, the exclusiness the wonderful v8 engine...and the fact that we have had them race in our local touring car series in the 80s (driven no less the by Kevin Bartlette albeiet very unsucsessfully) while id prefer the Torifo in in looks the Quattroporte would have to be my faveorite on offer here.

For some reason I find myself drawn towards the Bently. I'll seek professional help.

You can't compare the Maybach, Rolls and Bentley to the rest. They are by far superior.
Out of those three the Maybach is the best.
The maybach 62 is even better

As much as I like the new Maser, I think that they have really missed the opportunity to make a great car.

Every road test I have seen absolutely slates the gearbox.
The Cambiocorsa paddleshift 'box, with its electronic clutch gives disjointed, jerky, uncomfortable shifts, rather than the smoothness of a true auto, which is what you want for relaxed luxury cruising.

This wouldn't be a problem if a normal Auto was available, but Maserati knows best apparently.
    Thanks for all the fish

The E55 has to be the hands down winner. It's superfast and it really is a sedan.

This was also confirmed in Auto Motor und Sport, but it seems to work pretty well in manual mode, which is nice because this is a car to drive and not to be driven in.

I must say that the Jaguar XJ is also a great alternative.

I voted Phantom because it has presence. The Maybach may be bigger, sure, but it's only an inflated S-class rather than a Greek temple on wheels like the Phantom. Space, luxury, Balmoral-sized exterior, British understatement inside, and otherworldly pace for escaping assassins.
I also would really like to be driven in Charles de Gaulle's Citroen DS ,licence plate 1 PR 75 and bonnet tricolors still on it, through Texas, to see how Bush's buddies take it having a big "forn" limo with French flag on it drive past, then beat their pickups from the lights in "escape gear" (with that special Maserati engine, and the plastic body, it wasn't as slow as your run-of-the-mill sedan)
