faster on track or straightline speed??? straightline firetruck .... track ferrari
Actually it was a very "basic" question, to directly ask "which is faster?" is to leave out any other performance variables.Originally Posted by PerfAdv

Damn, why does this feel like a Matra type answer? ... j/k Peter.
Initially, I wanted to do a part II poll and elaborate, which would be faster around a track? The polltakers were too quick to realize that speed is only relevant if usable. So, I jumped to the punchline with #13. Didn't work exactly like I wanted it to I just managed to piss off some people in the process with the unusual comparisonOriginally Posted by NoOne

F430 or the Endeavour Space Shuttle?
F430
Weight: 1450 kilo
Engine: 90º V8
Power: 483 bhp
Top Speed: 196 mph
Endeavour
Weight (with main engines): 78019 kilo
Engine: Three main engines running on liquid hydrogen/liquid oxygen propellant, rated at 512,950 lb thrust each; two solid, reusable rocket boosters rated at 3,300,000 lb each at launch, running on aluminum powder, iron oxide, and ammonium perchlorate powder.
Speed: 17,500 mph -- typical orbit
Yeah i know this comparison is stupid.
The Shuttle is an eight-seater but... maybe we can keep that aside

You can only get smarter by playing a smarter opponent.
Not funny!

I bet most of u'd be surprised how fast a normal truck can accelerate without load... some trucks have over 3000 nm of torque and over 600hp.

Ferrari will accelerate faster but the firetruck might have a higher top speed
