The Viper SRT-10 doesn't have a limiter. It's top speed is around 190mph. I defy you to show us any information whatsoever that backs up your claim.Originally Posted by F1_Master

It's a list of fastest cars available in the UK (MSN UK site). I think Vipers are available there.
If the link expires here are the results:
1) Koenigsegg CCR - 227mph+
2) Ferrari Enzo - 217mph+
3) Mercedes SLR McLaren - 208mph
4) Maserati MC12 - 205mph+
5) Porsche Carrera GT - 205mph
6) Lamborghini Murciélago - 205mph
7) Ford GT - 205mph
8) Ferrari 575M Maranello - 202mph
9) Aston Martin Vanquish S - 200mph+
10) Mercedes CLK DTM AMG - 199mph+

If you're comparing the Elise to these..why? The Lotus Esprit should be the one to compare to the Noble and Viper. Has the Esprit been gone long enough for everybody to forget about it? That makes my heart ache with pain
I bet a Venom might push 220, but a stock Viper definetely can't. Maybe you've been playing Midtown Madness 3 too much? I got the Koeniggsegg to go 290 in that game! lol

I've got an idea. Search the web a bit, and you'll find it.
When the Viper was released at the Dallas Auto Show for the 1st time, one Dodge's highest officials came to to unveil.
Along with his info on it, he showed a movie of the Viper hitting that speed beating a jet.
If you want to be believed make the effort yourself to find this video or claim. I just think 220 mph in a Viper, which ain't lightweight and not exactly great for aerodynamics, is possible.Originally Posted by F1_Master
if i remember correctly, the viper has very good handling, on road&tracks test, its one of the best handling cars in america, and motor trend has more or less the same results (in g's, but i havent seen a motor trend magazine in long enough to say the viper is the best handler there) the numbers to prove it:viper with 1.04g's, and the lotus elise with .98, and on the slalom the viper had 68.6 mph vs. the lotus's 71.1Viper for straight line
i dont think you can really say the viper is a bad handler

Now compare those stats to the M400's.
Remember, the Elise and Viper are in different leagues.

i was just sayin that you cant truthfully say that the viper is just for straight line driving. i know the viper and elise are in different groups.

This isn't the same model, but it is possible. The Viper GTS-R Concept can brake 200MPH barrier.Originally Posted by RS6
it may be a good handler, but for me G's from a slalom dont prove much, i'd better understand comparative track times and corner exit speeds etc. plus, how much power has the viper got? 500hp? i reckon the M400 and Elise would be able to exploit their power betterOriginally Posted by CdocZ

ANYTHING is possible with a 'concept' and MANY claims are made for concepts that are impossible and yet manufacurers make them. think Bugatti and VeyronOriginally Posted by F1_Master
Whic the GTS-R is isnt' really relevenat to comaprisons with productino cars

ok, just to end the argument, im not alone in comparing the lotus elise with the viper. i just bought a road and track magazine "speed" where that is the main comparison of the article. so ha, i win!

Yeah but that isn't the standard SRT-10 that can go over 200 mph.Originally Posted by F1_Master
