With the all-new Tourbillon, Bugatti have developed the company's first all-new car since 2016. The successor to the Chiron is powered by an all-new hybrid drivetrain that combines a new V16 with three electric motors. Developed together with Cosworth, the internal combustion engine has 8.3-litre displacement and is naturally aspirated. The V16 alone is good for 984 bhp, while the maximum system output is 1,775 bhp. The prominent grille is a clear nudge to the Bugattis of old but the rest of the exterior and interior design of the Tourbillon is thoroughly modern. With Bugatti still busy producing the final W16-engined models, the first cars should arrive at customers in 2026. Production is limited to 250 examples and the net price is €3.8 million.
This weekend was the annual Pikes Peak Hill Climb. The epic race to the clouds was won for the fifth time by outright record holder Romain Dumas with the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck. The purpose-built battery electric vehicle boasts three electric motors good for a combined 1,600 hp and aerodynamics package that produces 6,000 lbs at 150 mph.
Also out on the mountain was the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N TA Spec. Driven by WRC-ace Dani Sordo, it was driven to victory in the exhibition class.
Bentley will debut the latest Continental GT Speed, which is the first hybrid version of the range-topping model tomorrow. The combined output is close to 800 bhp and the top speed is 335 km/h. We will add more images and details as soon as the car breaks cover.
