I commend BMW for their innovative designs. For a couple of decades BMW's have all looked similar and it was a brave move to step away from that. Despite not at all similar to the previous generation BMWs, the new cars are still very recognisable as BMWs.

In the class BMW operates in conservatism is the rule and BMW the exception. I prefer BMW's current style over that of the boring and dull Audis and Mercedes Benzes.

Would I buy this car though? No. The Alfa Romeo 147 combines BMW's sporty nature with Italian good looks, which makes it the obvious choice. It might be a good car for European lease companies who now stock Golfs and A3s, which both lack the Bimmer's unique character.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

BMW really screwed it up this time...

now i may not be one of the many singing the praises of Bangle, but in all honesty;why???

I showed a picture of the new car to my mother and the first reaction she had was that it was not a "real" BMW, she thought it looked korean...

in this market people are looking for aspirational stuff, which is why golfs, 147's and A3's are popular, because of their prestige and badge. minus these badges and most would still think they were Audis/VW's/alfas, but not this one. Kudos to BMW for having the faith to put this in production, but perhaps it's faith would be better spent somewhere else, somewhere less ugly.

I love 'em they're fookin awesome. Apart from the 116's with the Black plastic bumper inserts and 13'' hubcaps. I'll take a 120 over a Golf/ A-Class/ 147 any day.
A3 Sportback I would have to think about it. But at the end of the day, only one of them is RWD.

Anyone saying its not a BMW should historicaly educate themselves. Anyone putting it down 'cos its fashionable and everyone else is dissing... Don't be afraid to say that you like it.

The whole car is ok but I dislike the headlights. There's just something about them that's not right.

The only real thing this car serves as a purpose is driving pleasure. But I could find other BMWs that drive better for cheaper anyway. Plus, It doesn't have anywhere near enough space in the back, is poorly equipped, and most of all, completely hideous. Sorry.
