Bring them on.
I'm doing a mahogany center with maple wings, although there will probably be some maple towards the center from the wings, since I took the mahogany down to 7" wide. I've wanted to do this for a long time, so I finally just bought some wood, figured no turning back now!
I've got the back wood glued up and the top glued, just need to level the surfaces of each and join them, then comes the fun part.
Bolt on neck, compound radius. I'm just buying the neck from Warmoth, while I could make a flat neck pretty well, I wouldn't know where to start with a radius fingerboard, and they are much better to play, so I'll go with a purchased one. Plus, for the money, it's cheaper.
You can get a nice birdseye maple neck with rosewood, compound radius, pre-fretted for $140, all you have to do is finish it (not a big deal) and install the nut (slightly more work), but it would take me more than 14 hours to carve a neck, so it's worth it to me.
