    Total lunar eclipse tonight

Total lunar eclipse tonight. Northern Hemisphere will be able to watch

The main event begins at 10:01 p.m. ET, when the moon is completely covered by the darkest part of Earth's shadow. That translates to 9:01 p.m. CT, 8:01 p.m. MT and 7:01 p.m. PT. The total phase of the eclipse lasts 51 minutes, and the moon starts coming out of the darkest shadow, or umbra, at 10:52 p.m. ET.

Think it will be visible if it's pouring rain?
He came dancing across the water
    With his galleons and guns
    Looking for the new world
In that palace in the sun
    On the shore lay Montezuma
With his cocoa leaves and pearls

I saw one the last time there was one. Pretty cool stuff.

The awesome thing is that my window in my room faces the moon.

sorry about the blurriness... focusing a 300mm lens looking at a dark object while wearing glasses can be tricky

-14 deg C around here doesn't help for trying to work outside either, but a clear night otherwise.

It was snowing earlier (N. VA) but it cleared up and was able to see the moon go completely red-brown.

Well I missed it, I was too busy seeing Super Furry Animals with openers Times New Viking (which was way cooler than the eclipse)

But no need to fret anyway, it'll happen again in 2010!
i was waiting on a moment, but the moment never came. all the billion other moments, were just slipping all away. i must have been tripping, we're just slipping all away. just ego tripping.
