Its the 1970 Ford Mach II , styled by Japanese-American Larry Shinoda ,who when he was at GM was part of the Studio X team that used to work on the Corvettes (and dreamcars) for Bill Mitchell at GM. Shinoda was also a racing enthusiast, and was involved with Indy Cars, the Chapparal cars, and the Trans-Am Z/28 Camaro and also the Boss 302 Mustang (after he left GM to work at Ford)

It is based on a Detomaso Pantera , and was abandonned when Ford decided to just buy the whole Pantera deal and market them in the USA through there Lincoln-Mercury dealer network (cheaper)

Shinoda left Ford not long after doing this car , and went on to set up his own Shinoda Design Associates Company (doing freelance work for mainly Truck companies)
