Gronholm has first Ford test



Marcus Gronholm - FordDouble champion Marcus Gronholm has had his first test in the 2006-spec Ford Focus WRC. The former Peugeot ace is understood to have covered significant mileage on snow-covered stages in Sweden in the Blue Oval's all-new title contender, and is reportedly happy with his first taste of the car.

Gronholm's first drive in the new Focus WRC brought to an end a seven-year association between the Finn and the Peugeot team which yielded two drivers' titles, two manufacturers' titles and 18 rally wins. Ford is hoping that addition of Gronholm to its driving strength will allow the team to challenge for its first drivers' and manufacturers' title since 1981 and 1979 respectively.

Gronholm's fellow new Ford signing, Mikko Hirvonen, was also present at the test, but won't be driving until later in the week.

I will like to see how well he does there, it should be interesting to see a driver like gronholm behind the wheel of a F.O.R.D.
