Well they are German taxis, so mileage isn't much of an issue... parts are though. VERY pricey.

I looked at 5 and 7-series too, but I can't afford the massive gas costs.

    that's what she said

Luckily MPG is just enough to where I can afford
Parts aren't bad, it's just the less common ones (or less demanded) are more expensive.

Exterior looks pretty good, interior needs to be put back together according to the description (waiting for pics from seller).
    edit: It has 132,000 miles.
Seller said he'd get me pics as soon as possible.
    Manual or auto?

I'd personally prefer a straight six but anyway it sounds tempting.

What about the "interior needs to be put back together"? That doesn't sound very good...

    Auto :/
    Which is okay I guess...

Waiting for interior pics to be sent, so I'll know the extent of "put back together".

Zytek, what kind of car exactly you looking for? It seems like a broad range for sure.

You got some smaller sportier cars like 3-series then Audi V8s, Coupes, and now an E and 540? What are you looking for exactly?

If you don't mind me asking, what sorta money are you willing to spend on repairs yearly? What is roughly your annual budget for maintenance/insurance/gas/other crap I forgot?

That will help you and us give an opinion.

I say you get an E36, but I am far from an expert and this is based on shaky evidence.

I thought the Audi V8 you were looking at was pretty cool too.

EDIT: "Put back together" to me sounds like a lot of hassle, headache, and cost. Possibly catastrophic.

The Audi V8 long ago had the issue with a timing belt change needed.
Changing the belt on the Audi 3.6L V8 is not for a DIYer, and no shop in town would do it, and I refuse to end up spending $1000 to have a damn timing belt changed by Audi of Spokane.

I'd love to get an E36 3 series. The only reason why I'm looking at the 540i is because they've got great reviews, the price is excellent, and it has low miles. Though if the interior is absolutely torn to hell, then that will be a no.

I'll post the pics when I get them

Where do you read reviews of classic cars like that? I'm interested in picking up a 80s or 90s car in a few years and wondered if you know any good sites.

    Carsurvey.org has some good ones.
On the wiki for the E34 it says it's considered one of the best BMW's ever...

1994 is hardly a classic car...

Oh poo poo, I might end up having to get a pickup truck, due to them being more practical for doing stuff where I live, and it'd be better for going camping and the like.

Why can't you buy a damn Japanese car? Get a Subaru Outback/Legacy (Liberty to those in the Pacific islands) wagon - it does everything with decent mileage and we won't laugh at you if you end up with a 2WD version.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.
