i think it was a BRM 12 1/2 after that wreck, that's intense especially w/ the driver watching it from the track
Interesting shots. Hans Hermann is still with us, b.t.w. I am also intrigued by the seat? (tripod?) in the left corner of the picture. Was somebody supposed to sit there? A photographer or a marshall?

Those photos have always amazed... and yet to find an answer regarding the fireman's equipment ON the track. Herr Hermann thankfully is still with us and drives in vintage events.
