    Doune Hillclimb Sep 2010

The RX-8 is entered in this weekends National Hillclimb Championship round at Doune

New Kumho race rubber ( road legal ! ) will hopefully keep me off the barriers, away from the trees and stick on the balc stuff.

( Unlike last weeks Scottish/Highland Sprint Championship at Golspie where I spun spectacularly at the 5th corner ending in the tyres )

Hopefully get some good pics and vids.

New rubber on alloys just look strange beign smaller

If you want to be scared just search YouTube for Doune !!!

Good luck staying off those barriers! That's tight even for a 205!

Damn that takes precision driving to the max. There's no room really to set up the corners and man are those guard rails are close! Good luck dude, post an onboard vid if you can

Kept off the barriers - though close on a couple of turn-ins
However, went grass cutting having missed the turn in on the corner on the blind summit !!
    No damage.
61 seconds ... "needs improvement" as my old teacher would have said.
Vids and pics will be coming ... but dont' expect single seater times

Still had the widest grin getting out at the top

EDIT: put it in context, Jonathan does Doune in 38 seconds. I was 62 ... and STILL the widest grin for doing it

I love this video, not just for the great angle and chance to see his feet. BUT he keeps his right foot planted through the trickiest section -- which is >120mph for the single seaters RESPECT!!
