MTA Thinking about East River Tolls

NYC is in a budget crisis, so they're thinking about tolls on the East River.

Which may or may not happen, because there's the whole issue of logistics and who technically owns the bridges (the city does, but they need a law passed through the state to hand it over to the MTA).

I am highly against it, because the MTA always keeps raising tolls, fares, etc, and the service isn't getting any better. Yes, we are in hard times, but can you find a better way around it? It's always been that the East River bridges were free. I can see lower Manhattan losing a lot of business because people will not go out to Manhattan unless they definitely need to.

    Simple enough. For or against?

i'd rather a congestion tax then tolls on bridges unless the tolls are only certain times of day.

Its going to be extremely annoying, theyre likely going to put up those e-z pass tolls that you dont need to slow down for. probably the worst part of it all is how backed up the tunnels into the city will become
Don't bother me, I'm probably working while posting...

    how about cutting spending?
A woman goes to the doctor to figure out why she is having breathing problems...The doctor tells her she is overweight. She says she wants a second opinion...the doctor says, "your ugly".

These jagoffs raised the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike tolls last week, by like 40%. Haven't touched the Lincoln Tunnel or GWB since the 1st of December so I don't know if you guys were effected yet.

yeah they should expand the turnpike and make it trucks cars till exit 6 at least. then they should raise the speed limit for exit 10-15 from 55 to 65 or 60. then change the limit from 65 to 70 from exit 10 down to 6. the damn road was designed for 75 mph
