Kind of a late leak given they will debut the car in two days. Less retro, I like it.

Apparently it will be officially unveiled in Barcelona (amongst other locations) on the 5th.
Honestly, if the price is right it might just steer me away from the Toyobaru...
Lack of charisma can be fatal.
Visca Catalunya!
The styling is a little less slavishly retro, which is nice, but I wish they'd gone further still from the way the current generation looks.
...and from the prograde to the retrograde:
Just remember to get the V8. I don't care how much power the turbo four or six make, if you're going to buy a Mustang, buy a Mustang.
If you want to buy a cheap and powerful sports coupe, rather than a pony car, buy a used 350Z, or a Genesis and a supercharger, or a Renault Fuego Turbo, a bigger turbo, and an even bigger fire extinguisher.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
Looks pretty boring though. I'm tired of the retro look.
Looks like an Accord Coupe...
Of course V8 or nothing. Only thing that worries me is abysmal fuel consumption.
The four is most definitely out, too much choice here already (Toyobaru itself for instance), but the six could just make the cut.
In the end the big decider will be the price. The V8 has to be under 45 grand, if not it'll price itself out of the market.
In the end, it has to be a smaller, lighter and slightly more frugal alternative to the Camaro; which while interesting it's simply too big and thirsty for Europe.
Fuego Turbo is definitely tempting, though.
Actually, I think the V8 is the least capitalistical of the three engine choices.
I have always thought of the V8 engine (especially of the agricultural American variety) to be the performance choice of the people. Where there was a posh high performance German six or elegant revvy Italian engine there was always a humble, honest, big V8 to show them that blue collar workers can also compete with rich classist snobs.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.

Have to say Ford did a good job stepping away from the retro look without doing a complete 180. I think most Mustang fans will be happy but as always there will be haters.
All hail capitalism! Ferrer, I don't know you just made our beloved V8s into socialist propaganda devices but I resent you for it.
As for the V6, recall that the 2013/2014 V6 Mustang did a 13 second quarter mile (that's drag racin' for those of you in parts of the world without straight roads) with 300 horsepower at 30 mpg. Really hard to argue with those numbers. If this one comes in just a bit lighter and uses that IRS properly the V6 might be the track day option of choice.
I want... I want to be inside this Mustang.
Take that as you may.
I didn't mean it in the comunistical way.
I'm for the self-made man as much as anybody else.
I think Kitdy's post in the other Mustang thread explains it better than I ever could.
Long live to the American V8! Aristocrat snobs go choke on the smoke of my burnouts!
This.
However they say that apparently the turbo four could be around 42 grand.
I'm afraid that's a no go...
Lack of charisma can be fatal.

And thank god there's no diesel in the pipeline...
The problem is:
- Toyobaru: 30 grand
- Datsun Z: 46 grand
- V8 agricultural GM car: 44 grand
- Four cylinder Mustang 42 grand?
The point of having a large car that won't anywhere and that will use an immense amount of fuel is to, at least, have a charismatic engine.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.

The current V6 starts at $22,000 and the curent GT at $31,000; assuming the Turbo splits the difference evenly that gives a price of $26,500 or €19,500commiebux, which is silly as it will cost twice that. Here the V6 and V8 Mustangs undercut the V6 and V8 Camaroes by $2,000 and $3,000, respectively. I'm sure, even in Europe, Ford is cognizant of that and will keep their prices just below those of the Camaro.
Does a lot of Europe still have displacement-based taxes or is it all CO2-based these days? All of those cars will not return particularly-stellar fuel economy, especially if driven as intended.
BRoZ: 22/30 mpg (11/8 l/100km)
Dat Sun: 18/26 mpg (13/9 l/100km)
Moose-tounge GT: 15/26 mpg (15.5/9 l/100km) When your mpgs equal your liters-per-hundred-klicks, you're probably doing something very wrong or very right.
Shrimp V8: 16/24 mpg (14.7/10 l/100km)
...and besides, the hydrocarbons you should care about burning in these cars are in the tires, not in the engine.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
