Well, if you're gonna rice it, which im expecting you are, a nice coffee can works well on the exhaust, an ice pack will do good for the intake.

The 350Z's Engine unfortunately isn't very tunable. Hell, in Nissan's NISMO "R-Tune" package (thousands and thousands more), they only got very minimal gains over stock (they say 25hp or so, but I've heard that the reality is much closer to 10hp). These gains are from a new ECU, Headers, full exhaust, More aggressive camshafts, and an intake.
With this engine in mind, unfortunately I don't think that you'd make much of a difference no matter which intake you choose. It couldn't be more than 4hp, and definitely not an amount that you would notice a difference from (excluding placebo, I guess ).
If it's only power you're looking for, I suggest you look elsewhere... if you're looking to spiff up what it looks like under the hood, search through a couple online and choose whichever one you think looks the best.

In Australia aps a tunning company puts twin gt23 garretts on the 350z good for 270rkw and 12 flat quaters.

basicaly the only way to extract any noticable and worthwhile amout of performance out of a 350z is to go turbocharged or the less common on this particluar application supercharged. the stock VQ bottom end can take about 400hp. or you could just drop weight, get rid of your stereo, air conditioner, sound deadening, etc.
on a 300zx its a whole difference story depending on which model you have, if its a turbo 300zx the sky's the limit check out stillen.com or search google for many other tuning shops, if its a non turbo 300zx why bother, sell it and get a turbo or a better car, its really not worth tuning the standard VQ in the non turbo and a twin turbo swap is to much of a hastle and too costly, its cheaper to just buy a turbo 300zx. hope that helped

Id take a 300zx Turbo any day over a 350z.

the 300ZX is a bit heavy... you want serious performance upgrades for it? strip out your backseats, carpet, rooflining, spare tyre, door trims etc etc to get it as light as possible, never underestimate the potential of a medium power lightweight car
