A New UCP Suggestion: Sound Clips

What could work would be a thread dedicated to car sounds (engines mainly), kinda like the hide out but instaid of visual...audio. What I'm not sure of is how to upload the sounds without linking to third party sites.

It's sort of like the "More Smilies!!" argument- a load of ricey crap that we don't especially need, as loading times will be longer for the poor sods still on 56k, and I don't want to wait longer for something I know that I would never use.

Allowing sound files as attachments has come up a couple of times, but difficult to police ( ie effort ) to ensure UCP doesn't get used as a music-exchange ( espscially as the nazis are going after everyone )
I'd still like it as many haven['t heard most of the engines we talk about and it isn't always easy to find them out there.
BUT usually with a little effort you can - even the Matra V12 ( met a Le Mans resident who remembered them as a kid and has heard them at Lennart's site. he says no recording gives justice to HOW LOUD they really were )

how about sound clips for every car in the car by brand section, i realize this would take along time to do, but it would be awesome

But my speakers are used to produce sound all the time I'm at the computer.

it'd be a waste of bandwith, time, and effort that can be used on better things. I know what a car sounds like, i dont need to hear it everytime i click on a certain link. The novelty of it would wear off really quick.
