I'm OK with an engine unveil for something like this. I assume it will be hand assembled but I didn't see it say whether it would or wouldn't as I skimmed the press release. Either way though, I would love to have this as like my coffee table, just so I could admire the technology and craftsmanship day in and day out.

    Proper engine. Stupid gearbox.

I'm surprised it's not a turbo. Being German and everything, you know...

    Thankfully, sanity (insanity?) prevailed.

If Lamborghini had used FI, then that woulda just been another icon defaced.

Yes, fortunately all is well. And without DI there's less to go wrong, being Italian and everything, you know...

DI is on the cards for a forthcoming evolution, apparently.

And, not least, Lamborghini customers expect an emotional shift feeling that ensures the sports car’s reactions can always be felt and understood. Thus, the development objective was clearly formulated in this respect, too – create the world’s most emotional gear shift.
Nothing can be more emotional than stomping on a clutch and rowing through a nicely actioned manual shifter.

Brilliant engine... but we will see when it hits the road in form of the Aventador.
Lamborghini wouldn't have gone Turbo. They didn't even consider it as far as I know. Apart from that, turbocharging wouldn't really fit to their cars.
The gearbox... well, it may not be a manual, but at least it's a super fast shifting unit that is able to handle the power. In other words, better than the current gearbox.
