Revo do you speak/understand Finnish? I have heard that Estonian and Finish have similarities to them.

    • Before switching off the engine, let it idle for 20-30 seconds
    • Use only Saab Turbo engine oil or oil certified by API SF/CC-SC/CD standards. Viscosity SAE 10w30, 10w40 or 5w30. Do not use addintional additives. See Owner's Manual
    • The engine oil must be changed after every 10,000 kms
    Thank you.

By the way, you just have to love swedes. The say do not exceed 5000rpm for the first 2000km when the red line is at 5500rpm...

Yes, I can understand Finnish quite well and I can speak basic Finnish despite never having taken a lesson on it.

We share lots of other things too - like odd sense of humor, heavy drinking, bitter hatred of Swedes and Russians...

Actually, fuel cut-out is set at the 6000 rpm to prevent overboost damage to the engine.

However, it can be easily fixed by cranking switch clockwise with a screwdriver. OR you can bypass it entirely by pluggin the vacuum line running to the cut-out switch.

You see, Swedish design is always dictated by usability and functionality.

Revo, if you drive it hard either invest in some REALLY good oil, or plan for changes at 5 000km, not 10 000.

Have you had the boost controller reprogrammed yet? You can lift the boost level from 7psi stock to 12psi with stock parts, then you max out almost everything (fuel pump, injectors, and in the 90s cars the turbos ability to blow) at once.

I change oil annually, since I clock only 2000-3000 kms every year. And I use fully synthetic 5w40.

Nope, it is completely stock and will stay that way. I know that true turbo Saab fanatics consider anything less than 1 bar (14.7psi) not as a boost, but a vacuum leak....

However, I like the fact that I have unmodified turbocharged car from 1980s, which are quite rare these days. Most importantly - I'm not after performance. It's the experience, the sounds, the feelings that thrill me.

    And now long promised snapshots.
