I'm so proud of myself...
6,7 liters in the Ford while doing a long autobahn trip, constantly driving 100 km/h. It took ages to arrive back home, though :/

Decided to reset the trip computer yesterday for me weekly journey to Girona with the i30. I did 106,7km and the average speed was 120km/h.
The result?
14,2l/100km. (20mpg UK / 16mpg US)

Seems a little fast for good economy there!
Life's too short to drive bad cars.
There an easy explanation. Of those 106,7kms, 10 were in the city, 10 more in a ring road with a 80km/h speed limit and 10 more when I went off the motorway in an A-Road to get to where I was going.
Hence the relatively low average speed.

I got 30.3 MPG on my last fill-up, which I find puzzling as I was stuck in an accident-induced traffic jam for ~1.25 hour and after that I was driving like a madman to make up the time....I think I did my calculation right....

My trip down to Road Atlanta for PLM, cumulatively probably just under 1500 miles round trip. Refilled 3 times(did not run all the way empty), ~400 miles per tank. Which comes out to about 30 MPG for the whole trip. Including some fun bits of driving in the hills in TN/NC/GA area.
Pretty acceptable actually. Consider my daily driving yields between 25-27 MPG, the overall mileage seems to be right on VW's EPA rating...despite being on stage 1 tune....

Korean box got 10,56l/100km this week. Most annoying of all is the small fuel tank which makes for a lot of refueling stops...

With some minor tweaks on the car (improved aerodynamics and re-programmed ECU) and a very cautious right foot, my Puma got to 1liter on 16.7km on the daily drive
8,5l/100km (33mpg UK / 28mpg US).
That's what you get when you concentrate very hard.
Driving efficiently is far more tiring and stressful than driving fast.
