I'm pretty sure he gets counselling off Dr Phil. He's had the car for a good fair few years, and i think it knocked him around alot mentally when he crashed it. I think theres a line in the trailer where Dr Phil says after everything hes done with the car, he has to rebuild the car.

Sports training pshychology is a big BIG thing.
Can remove many of the blocks drivers have on their own performance.
Have used this myself to more appropriately "psych myself" for a stage.
In the past it was all crude "c'mon do it" type of bruha, now much more about visualisation ... watch some bike riders and you can see them moving their body in the pits while visualising every inch of the ride. Likewise you sometimes (less so) see drivers do the same.
But that's only one aspect, the whole psychological mindset is amazing how much difference it can make -- and measureably make on a race track.
( Daughter's doing Psychology degree and have helped another student do his practical study involving 20 folks on kart track under different influences. NOT drugs Certainly opened my eyes up to "performance gains" that don't involve lots of money

    Yes!!
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

just watched this, i reccomend it.
sums up car attachment/ownership so well. some reviews said it was slow paced and boring, but hell with that. there was funny parts, the driving footage was great.
made me want to enter targa tasmania!
then i saw the crashes, so now i just want to spectate..

Was on Speed this past weekend and finally watched it....its actually one of the better thing I've seen this year...You really get that sense of attachment he has to his car and people he talked to do provide some very insightful comments....

And the general tomfoolery at the end credit was hilarious...including the navigating for a NASCAR race.....reminded me of an episode of The Onion...

Makes it to one of my "must watch" car related film..

Giant Irony = there's a ripoff of The Arcade Fire's song No Cars Go in the soundtrack.
