What a weird car!
Its nice to see a tribute to one of the most interesting cars ever made (and also a tribute to one of the neatest bits of automotive technology).
It's odd that they are using GT25s to only make about 350-370HP at the flywheel, two GT25s should easily allow 500HP+ to be pulled out.
BTW: The terms SOHC and DOHC are used in a per bank sense.
Power, whether measured as HP, PS, or KW is what accelerates cars and gets it up to top speed. Power also determines how far you take a wall when you hit it
Engine torque is an illusion.

You guys realize the prehistoric EGR and other emissions systems on that car choked the ever living shit out of its potential, right?

You guys have had stricter emissions for way longer... That, coupled with TPI (probably one of the worst fuel injection methods I can think of)... No isht they weren't particularly great performers.

like people have said already the TPI is horrible. Any vette (besides the zr-1, but even that too if you ask me) built from 1973 all the way up till the introduction of the c5 are pretty pathetic. As were almost all cars from the time, as quiggs said with their new (prehistoric by todays standards)emissions equipment, choked intakes and exhaust, low compression motors ect. Real preformance was dead all through the mid 70's till the early 90s (with a few notable exceptions)
My rides:
1999 Mustang GT
1974 Ford Country Squire (for sale!)
1991 Jeep Cherokee
1970 Shelby GT500
Brabham tried such an idea in Formula 1 in the 70s and was pretty quickly banned, as it sucked everything off the road and blew it into the following traffic in a shower of stones and rubber. And that's on a relatively clean racetrack - let alone some of the sandy, dusty streets around suburbia!
Also it was considered a safety hazard, as a fan failure mid-corner would see the car spear off the track, knocking a hole in the scenery
I dont believe it was banned, rather Brabham withdrew it before then. Most of the fuss was over it being against the "spirit" of the rules.

Brabham had other troubles with the car just as Chapman had with his "twin chassis" 86/88 F1 cars... which exceeded the spirit of the rules. That, of course, is the designers job.
Snowmobile engine driving a fan for downforce? Jim Hall did it before anybody with the Chaparral 2J. TWO snowmobile engines! Anyone following him got a face full of track grit and clag. Outlawed immediately. Wiki entry: Chaparral Cars - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I really wish someone would fix the spelling in this thread's title.
