Srsly, 292km of Hume Fwy is considered in 'best driving roads of aus'!? When you're passing so many better roads?

You're in the region of the Great Ocean road and you leave past Colac on the Princess Fwy!?

I seem to be the only one who's explored the roads around there, so take it from me, those are two giant boring stretches of road.

Coming down into Vic. Turn left at Wangaratta and head for Mansfield. You could go for a quick blast up/down Mt. Buller (you know, where they hold that hillclimb...), and then head around and down to Marysville (you will drive through the bushfire affected area, not sure of the current status but when I was there last it was eerie to drive through and beautiful at the same time). From Marysville down to Healsville is the Black Spur (B360). It is epic.

From there-on in you're in Melbourne, which is boring, so get down to the Great Ocean Road. Once at the turning point, go inland a little, and then turn right to make your way back down to Lavers Hill through the inner roads. Across to Tanybryn and then down to Skenes Creek, back to the Great Ocean Road.

Avoid the Hume and the Princess Fwy, they're boring long stretches of road that don't compare in the slightest to the gems that are lurking around them.

Cops, cops, cops and more cops, as well as logging trucks cutting corners.

Depends on day/time/season. Even with cops and logging trucks I'd choose it over the Hume Fwy 100% of the time.

I've had a near deserted perfect condition blast on it and it was a truly brilliant road.

Doesn't compare to Switzerland, but that's a whole other story...

Well if you can come, Daan, feel free to complain about it then.

    Until that occurs though...

My new toy rolled up on Sunday.

its a 2009 Hyosung 650 Comet. Fuel injected LAMS model.

its got 1090 kays on it and is in pretty good nick, its been accident repaired but from checking over it this morning it needs:

    - mirrors
    - bar ends
    - decent wash

So ive order those bits and some 'fun' parts for it from Korea and should be over rego by next Friday. Im not in a hurry as I havent got my new helmet yet so I cant ride it anywhere anyway.

So yay. Bring on the sunny weather!

So I finally got my HTC Legend in the mail today. Only 3 months, 28 days late. whatever. Initial impressions are positive - everything you can customize is easy to fiddle with, the keyboard is responsive but a bit small for my fingers, and the screen is gorgeous, if a bit small. DoubleTwist works brilliantly as an iTunes clone, and overall I am pleased.

On an unrelated note, after cleaning my room (first time in like 8 months) I found $230. Cool story?
