and it is close geared too, thats why corvetters top out at about 150
Do you have any idea what the words “Corvette, CVT (an initialisim I know, not a word), supercharged, Twin-turbo (again, a compound), or power-band” even mean?

Honestly, this looks like it was written by a twelve year old fan boy… oh wait.

The LS7's redline is 6.5k, which i round up to 6k and most of the power hunched up at low rpms, add a supercharger where efficiency is usually restricted to a small rpm range and it is just a drag racing engine. Plain and simple.

I doubt that it could go past 180 without 7 or more gears, or you would have to wait for eternity to come to reach top speed.

Where is the flaw in my logic!

Last years Vet with a 400hp LS2 can do 185 in 5th.... so a 700hp version needing 7+ is perfectly logical

Rounding UP would take you to 7k, holy sh*t.....

You actually had to ask where the flaw was? gold.

Actually i was being generous since redline is 6.4k, Joking!

But to prove my point about the power band and top speed thing, I did a quick Google search, The porshe 911 gt2 has 450hp and reaches 150 in 18.8 sec, while the 500 hp c6 reaches 150 in 25 sec. What about top speed?

I don't know what y'all smoke in Baldwin county, but the 500hp ZO6 does 0-150 in 17 seconds

    Wow.

    Really, wow.

You really need to check your facts. The LS7 redlines at 7000rpm.
Inside the new LS7, Part 1 - Autoblog

Simple math: 6.5 rounds up to 7. 6.4 rounds DOWN to 6. When you round up the final number is always bigger than the starting number.

You don't have to doubt anything. The 400hp C6 tops out at over 180. Based on GM's claims it tops out at 186mph.
Results and Specs - Comparison Tests - Car and Driver December 2004
The test car got to 150 in about 25 seconds.

Sure there might be some sample to sample variability but the 1989 Corvette could do almost 150. A back issue of Car and Driver I have shows the 1992 Corvette Convertible clocking 157.

I'm not claiming the Corvette is the end all be all of sports cars. I've put quite a few miles on an '05. Great car but not without flaws... but generally not the flaws people who have never driven the car would claim it has. However, even a quick read of a Corvette review would dispel the claims you have made.

alrighty kigango your sounding a bit foolish at the moment. This is definetly not the place to go shutting down the vette. Your baseless claims and random statements reflect your lack of knowledge on the topic at hand. Unless you have something productive to say in this thread i suggest you make like an eel and slither off before you get further skinned by the enthusiasts on this forum.
