The participants:

GROUP 1:

1. Carlos - Super Safari 4500cc Standard.. no mods - PATROL

2. Vaughan - 3.5ltr Mitsubishi Pajero SWB minus the plastic on the sides and a straighter exhaust. - PAJERO SWB [WITHDRAWN]

3. PR - 1993 Renegade, headers, cone air filter, throttle body, 265/70R15 tyres and a 1.25" lift, no roof or doors. - WRANGLER

4. slguy - as stock as can be - CRUISER

5. jjamal - No major change in the car but for sure the driver is not stock - CRUISER


GROUP 2:

1. Jimbo - LAND ROVER

2. Ryan - ' 92, auto gear, standard engine, 4200cc, 3dr - PATROL

3. ikasimali - Toyota Hilux - MIXED

4. Eug - TJ - WRANGLER

5. Haresh - stock and auto - CRUISER [WITHDRAWN]


GROUP 3:

1. Bob - 2003 Super Safari, 4800, LWB, stick gears, a few mods that have taken it over 320HP, bigger wider rubbers and rims, 2" of lift - PATROL

2. santosh - Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 lit. Stock - MIXED

3. yousuf - tahoo -1999-5.7 litter - CHEVY TAHOE - MIXED

4. Laurie - (unsure) - WRANGLER [WITHDRAWN]

5. Mark - Stock except for tires.. and suspension.. - CRUISER


GROUP 4:

1. Defender - LAND ROVER

2. Mohamed Turbo - Nissan Patrol with Toyota engine + Turbo - MIXED

The Stations:

1. Hill Climb - straight climb, one car, one try. Points for height reached. (focus on horsepower)

2. 1/4 mile speed - straight drive on sebkha, one car at a time. Points for fastest times. (focus on speed)

3. Tug of War - one car on churned-up flat sand, dragging a heavy weight over 20 metres. Points for longest distance covered. (focus on torque)

4. Bowl Escape - park in bottom of steep, churned-up bowl and exit. Points for fastest time. (focus on acceleration)

2nd Place: tied between Toyota Prado driven by slguy and Nissan Patrol LWB driven by Bob, with 34 points.

3rd Place: Land Rover Defender driven by defender with 30 points.

4th: Toyota Land Cruiser (jjamal) and Mitsubishi Pajero SWB (Vaughan) - 28 points.
