I don't think these cars are "stock" and strictly following the GT3 rules, still it's quite remarkable for a relatively new car to outperform, by now, the all-conquering 997 GT3.
The GT3 cars are performance balanced, so the results in those races do not really reflect the capabilities of the cars. I think these VLN regulations are a little more lenient. The R8 LMS is a very fast car when unrestricted.
