If I were Schumi, I wouldn't be worried in the least about tarnishing my reputation. His past performance should speak for itself, regardless of what he does now.
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain one as an adult.
Well if Mika Salo can fill in for Michael when he broke his leg a few years back, then I guess it's alright for Schumi to fill in for Massa. I just hope he doesn't embarass himself or Ferrari, (which is doubtful anyway) but I am looking forward to see both Schumacher and Kimi go head to head.
This is a question about driver points. If Michael does finish in a points position, how will his points affect Massa, and Kimi ?
he would help the team get manufacturer points, but would accrue his own driver's points. not really doing much to either kimi or massa. assuming kimi earns his own.
Honor. Courage. Commitment. Etcetera.
Thanks for the info, I knew that Ferrari would probably get the points for the constructors points but not sure how the driver points would be distributed.
News is apparently breaking from the Associated Press that Schumacher has called off his imminent return to F1 due to his persistent neck injury.
EDIT: Confirmed - http://www.michael-schumacher.de/?pa...=82524&lang=uk

Not so good.
Confirmed also by Ferrari.
Not saying they mean it since the beginning, but a good ad at the end of the day.

What I've been unable to understand is, do they still intend to bring him in if he is fit enough? (Schumacher, I'm aware Massa won't)
The plan is to use Badoer until either Massa or Schumacher is fit enough to return to racing. Rumours has it Schumacher could race in Monza. Rumours also has it, however, that Monza is the aim for a Massa return.
Also, Montezemolo claims he wants to field a 3rd Ferrari car in 2010, driven by Schumacher as a permanent return to Formula 1. This to fill the gap from BMW leaving and if one of the 3 new teams fail to hit the grid in time

I think the 3 cars proposal isn't connected to BMW leaving or the other teams. I twas on the air even before (and even some years ago, just smoke).
I don't see either Rossi or Schumacher driving a supposedly 3rd car next year or even in the foreseeable future.
That said, I'd go for Gene, but perhaps this is just a farewell for Badoer...
