    New Server

Welcome to our new server. As you may have noticed today, we have been moving servers. This has gone very smoothly with minimal downtime. The only problem we faced was some missing software needed to generate the thumbnails. This has just been solved and all new posted attachments should have thumbnails. The missing thumbnails of the images posted earlier today are in the process of being generated.

Apologies for the inconvenience you may have had today. If you do run into any problems, please don't hesitate to post them here.

    Thanks,

    Wouter

It has quite a bit more processing power and memory, so it should be able to handle the loads a little better.

    good news indeed

I'm having a lot of problems at the moment, is it me or are you still working on it?
Like clicking on any button and facing the "www" address which doesn't lead anywhere, so I have to manually change it to "ww2" to make it work.

Ah then your ISP's DNS has not been updated yet. It's a very annoying and slow situation, which we can't help.

Are you still pointed to the old server on Ultimatecarpage.com - Powered by knowledge, driven by passion It does still show traffic getting to it. It's been nearly 24 hours now.

this situation is freaking annoying to say the least.
Any idea on how to speed up a solution?
Emptying my chronology could help perhaps?

No, unfortunately the problem lies with your ISP. Each domain name is connected to a server through an IP number. This connection is stored in a DNS registry. I have changed my DNS registry early yesterday morning but it takes time for each ISP to update their DNS cache. Some ISPs do it quicker than others. Mine did it in about 12 hours but I could tell that there were people on the server earlier than that as well. You can check if it has been update by sending a ping to www . ultimatecarpage . com (minus the spaces). If the IP starts with 74 it's still sending you to the old server. The new one starts with 174.

    My apologies for the inconvenience.

Looks like I'm on the new one, it's resolving to 174.133.218.114. Seems faster, mainly for loading the Galah Sessions thread..

    It's heading to 174....
Is it fine if the address is www and not ww2?
I mean, they both exist...I'm confused.
    Everything seems to work though.

You should use www, the other was just a temp address.
