Theoretical max speed of Lan Evo VIII GSR

The theoretical max speed of a 6 speed Lan Evo VIII GSR is 165 mph

I used the following for my calculations, Tires are 235/45, 17 inch rims, 7000 rpm redline, final gear of 4.583 and a 6th gear of 0.693.

The equation is pretty simple (assuming the car has enough horsepower to accelerate to and maintain the speed at redline)

    Tire diameter which is [(235*0.45) * 10 * 2] + [17 * 2.54]
and the rotational speed of the tires at engine speed of 7000 rpm

Tire diameter turns out to be 2.02098 meters and rotational speed of 2204 rpm or 132241 rph

    2.02098 * 132241 = 267256.5 meters per hour or 267.2 kph which is 165 mph

=D so thats the theoretical max speed of the lan evo VIII GSR 6 speed =D

and just outta curiosity i figured the theoretical max speed of the s2000 as well, it is 250 kph or 155 mph

My friend hit 150mph with his S2000 and told me that there was some power left to some extra speed so you are probably right

Can you get the max speed for my car?

    Tires 205/40 Rims 17
    6800rpm redline
    5th gear 0.71

Oh forget it... I don't know the final gear and I'm too lazy to look for it. If you feel like researching..... It is a 2001 Civic LX coupe.

my dad has a BMW 7 seiries and did 145mph!!!
There is 3 people on a boat with loads of children running around it, the 3 people are: 1. Bob geldof, 2. Ozzy Osbourne, and 3. Micheal jackson, they're sailing out for the G8 live aid, they've hit a rock and they're sinking, bob says: "save the children!" ozzy says: "Fuc the children!"

Micheal says "have we got time?"

i cant find the final gear for the 2001 civic so im just going to use the 2004 one instead which is 4.11. it comes out to 261 kph or 161 mph, dont get excited though, no way ur car has enuff power to get to that speed, and the tires prolly cant handle that speed either :P

also some of you may wonder why the s2000 theoretical speed is lower than a civics, its because the s2000's gear box has shorter ratios which is good for acceleration, but not max speed
speed as you all know is all relative, givin enough time and fuel any thing can reach any speed (up to but not including speed of light) now all of you can now go and say to your friends ur cars can travel at 300 000 km/s

oh and btw you can increase the max speed if u remove the rev limiter, but make sure that you dont rev it too high or ur engine will explode. if you have enuff time all u gotta do is make sure the piston speed does not exceed the limits of your piston and conrods potential.

usually, i repeat USUALLY its save to go 200-300 rpm above redline but that would depend on the condition, and age of the engine. usually longer stroke engines will have lower redlines compared to short stroke engines like F1 cars which have redlines at 19 000 rpm
