Yes, this is totally correct and I agree full-on with what you're saying. Unfortunately we have to put up with explaning a lot of stuff to people who misinterpret what's actually going on.

Everyone seems to use the "it's cold in _____ location, therefore there is no global warming". The answer of course is simple: It's called global warming (or better yet, climate change) for a reason. Does that location on its own adequately represent global weather? I think not.

    No, I'm not saying that.

Merely pointing out that it is not as easy as just saying to someone "please stop doing that, you might kill a fish" when their entire livelihood depends on it.

It is a two-tiered, arrogant, colonial attitude and it is downright offensive.

It is expected that these desperately poor people should have their lives turned completely upside-down because their actions are directly impacting an environment, but, once we have finished ordering them to abandon their jobs and probably their homes too, we can retire to our first-world creature comforts completely unaffected, aside from a smug feeling of having done "good".

Ok, so if everyone is saying their location is cooler, where is the average global temperature rising?

Who is saying? We just had the warmest winter in recorded history (since the 1850's) and speculations are the summer will be too.
