I guess that'll be as close as you can get to an M7:

"A different 745i was built for the South Africa market, because the turbocharger on the European-market 745i could not be installed in right-hand-drive versions of the car due to space restrictions in the engine bay (in RHD configuration, the steering shaft occupied the space where the turbocharger/exhaust was located on LHD versions). This car was fitted with the 286 hp (213 kW) dual-camshaft 24-valve type-M88 /3 Motorsport engine (with a Bosch ML-Jetronic fuel injection system) as used in the M635i, and M5. 209 of these cars were built between 1984 and 1986, fitted with either an automatic transmission or a 5-speed 'sport' gearbox. Of the 209 cars built 192 were automatics and 17 were fitted with manual gearboxes.

BMW South Africa ran one of these 745i models in Class A of the South African Modified Saloon Car Championship, the only BMW-Sanctioned motor sport application in the history of BMW 7-series cars."

I wonder if Audi would make a RS8 to go up against the S65 AMG. That'd be batshit crazy. (Naming might be an issue, with the R8.)
And S65 and A8 are completely different cars...

    Wow, nice photoshopping!

I think there should be, since Merc has their AMG tuned S63's and 65's, and Audi has their S8's, as many people here already said. BMW should bring out something that can match that. The 760 just doesn't cut it. It'll certainly lag behind in terms of speed and handling.

last time BMW made an M7 they ended up calling it an 8 series which totally needs to be resurected..... compete with the SL class and gran turismo's and DB's. an M1 style super car and a sweet roadster Z8ish car. bmw has sooo much potential but the problem is, their cars are sooo good that they cover more room with less models then other manufactures. more Alpina models would be cool though

Don't think I'll be able to scan the article, but I did find a nice article on the old 745i:

    BMW E23 745i

They were even kind enough to post an owner's manual

One distinguishing feature (other than the engine) I remember of it was that the dash - all of it - was covered in leather...

Anyways, any other improvements you guys want to see in the chop?

Well if you want it too look more M-like, what about a bonnet bulge, some vents and different mirrors?

    ..................................?

Performance wise, yeah, but if they made an RS8, I'm sure it would be quite similar.

Got an update, added a bonnet bulge, hood vents and side vents (also from the M3). Not sure it fits on a 7, but hey, it's a chop.

Next up, rear view mirrors from an M6.

I still can't make up my mind about this car. Sure, it's a lot better in styling, but what about that rear end? The front I guess is alright now.

But Kooper, ugly car still, but a great chop. Like how you made it subtle and slightly angry at the same time. Reminds me of the E39 M5s. Unless you truly knew what you were looking at, you wouldn't know it's an M5. There's a stealth factor that you added, that BMW has had issues in comprehending with the current M5 and somewhat with the M3. You seem to have hit it spot on, however.

    Thanks NSXType-R

The 7 is starting to grow on me a bit, though I still find a couple of aspects of the styling dreadful (tail lights, plasticky "vents" on the sides etc.).
